Ania Schwartz, Speech-Language Pathologist
Assessments are conducted and ongoing therapy programs are developed to best help your child.
LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY
A language evaluation may be conducted if your child is not talking, you're concerned about a delay compared to peers, or your child's teacher has observed an issue. A language assessment targets vocabulary, grammar, phrase length, play skills, problem solving, verbal reasoning and attention.
ARTICULATION ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY
An articulation evaluation may be conducted if your child has a hard time being understood or has difficulty producing specific sounds. Verbal, visual and tactile cues are used to help the child use a "new" way of producing the sound.
ORAL MOTOR ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY
Oral motor therapy may be utilized along with articulation therapy to help strengthen weakness in the articulatory structures like the jaw, tongue and lips and improve the child's speech clarity. Exercises that improve oral motor strength can help resolve issues with drooling, eating and drinking.
KINDERGARTEN PREP
Kindergarten prep can help prepare your child for a kindergarten admission test as well as strengthen kindergarten readiness skills. Attention, following directions, and vocabulary skills are all targeted in a fun way for your future kindergartner. Conversation, grammar, pre-reading and math skills are also focused on to help your child feel successful and confident.
TELETHERAPY
Online therapy can help ensure that your child won't lose ground with their speech, language and learning requirements.
